How can local authorities be more transparent and open to their citizens? How can citizens help institutions to counter corruption and conflict of interest more effectively?
During the discussion, the Anti-Corruption Fund Foundation will present its work on the project “Transparency and Accountability of Local Authorities, Strong Communities”. The project engages local authorities in 10 locations across the country to adopt and implement the Local Government Accountability and Integrity Standard, which introduces the principles of good governance in Bulgaria.
Along with this, the project mobilized civil society communities in these localities to independently monitor for corruption, abuse of power and conflict of interest at the local level.
The ACF team will present the Anti-Corruption Fund’s Local Government Accountability and Integrity Standard and Implementation Guide, and explain how local authorities and activists can get involved from here on.
The meeting will take place online on the Zoom platform.
