Our experience shows that to combat corruption effectively, it is not enough to create or reform institutions – it is necessary to engage civic communities and networks. This provides sustainability and support for the persons publicly fighting corrupt practices.
COMBINING HIGH EXPERTISE WITH THE MOBILIZATION OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES
Our local partners will actively participate in designing the Local Accountability and Integrity Standard (LAIS).
INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL PARTNERS FOR MONITORING THE GOVERNANCE PROCESS
Applying the Standard, our local partners will prepare regular observation reports about different municipalities. In case of an identified malpractice or irregularity, the ACF will file reports to the competent institutions.
IMPROVING THE ACCOUNTABILITY AND INTEGRITY OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES
Active implementation of the good governance principles will lead to improvements in public institutions’ transparency and accountability, essentially contributing to reduced levels of corruption.
